Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

What defines beauty?
What makes a person beautiful?
What defines a person's worth?
For many years of my life, if asked these questions, i would have responded with remarks such as; "Perfect skin, a thin body, something of a sensual appeal, the more physically appealing you are the more worth you have," basically the definition the world has given beauty.
but as i've grown and have undergone eye opening experiences, my perspective has evolved.
no longer do i judge beauty by physical characteristics.
beauty is humble, patient, long suffering, meek, selfless, open minded, kind, optimistic, well rounded, cultured, uplifting, generous, courageous, vigilant, confident, stead fast, immovable, honest...
beauty is loving thy self.
beauty is realizing your worth and living up to your potential each and every day of your life.
beauty is not shrinking in the presence of others.
beauty is seeing yourself and others through divine eyes.
Each soul on earth is a beautiful valiant being.
the world is so proficient at making us forget how valiant we truly are.
Because of this phenomenon of forgetfulness, we begin to judge our worth based off of how physically beautiful the world tells us we are.
We forget the incredible talents and qualities we have been blessed with and our mind is clouded with things of a worldly nature, as a result, we begin to think we are only as beautiful as the world tells us, therefore, if we are not up to par, our worth is degraded.
But where physicality ends, true beauty begins.
beauty begins with the heart and is expressed through the eyes.
beauty also finds expression through charitable acts and quiet strength.
a beautiful person turns the other cheek time and time again.
beauty is forgiveness and hopes the best for all.
Let us all join in on an effort to change the world's perception of beauty.
There is beauty with in us all, let us not allow our beauty to wilt because of our flawed perspectives.
